Steam for Sterilisation
Steam Sterilisation is a simple yet very effective decontamination method. Sterilisation is achieved by exposing products to saturated steam at high temperatures (121°C to 134°C). Product(s) are placed in a device called the autoclave and heated through pressurised steam to kill all micro-organisms including spores.
Our Stericator™ Steam sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape can be used as qualitative process indicators to ensure full and proper sterilisation has occurred.

Also unlike many of the competitive sterilisation indicator labels and tapes Stericator™ Steam contains no heavy metals.
Application
The Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape are process indicators to identify processed and non processed products. The Stericator™ steam labels should not be used as dosimeters.
Format
The Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical indicator labels are self-adhesive, 12mm diameter, 5000 per reel, 1 dot per width, also available as a tape.

Lead Time
The Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape are less than 4 weeks to despatch from receipt of order.
Technical Specification
The Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical process indicator labels are heavy metal-free indicator labels which undergo a visual colour change from pink to black when exposed to steam. The indicator labels are designed for use in hospital steam autoclaves operating at 121ºC / 1 bar or 134ºC / 2 bar.
Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical process indicator labels are Class 1 process indicator labels and are manufactured in compliance with ISO 11140-1:2005 “Sterilisation of health care products – Chemical indicators – Part 1: General requirements.
Shelf Life and Storage
Stericator™ steam sterilisation chemical indicator labels have a shelf life of 18 months from the date of manufacture prior to use, provided they are stored in ambient conditions below 20°C and 50% R.H. and away from direct sunlight.
