Stericator™ EtO
Sterilisation Chemical Indicator Labels & Tape
Ethylene Oxide (EtO) for Sterilisation
Ethylene Oxide (EtO) sterilisation is mainly used to sterilise medical and pharmaceutical products that cannot support conventional high temperature steam sterilisation – such as devices that incorporate electronic components, plastic packaging or plastic containers.
EtO gas infiltrates packages as well as products themselves to kill micro organisms that are left during production or packaging processes.
Our Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape can be used as qualitative process indicators to ensure full and proper sterilisation has occurred.
Features
Consistent colour change from purple to Green on a uniform sterilisation indicator label
Each sterilisation indicator label and tape batch is independently validated in a recognised EtO plant
The chemistry and product ranges have been completely developed in house for our Stericator™ sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape.
Also unlike many of the competitive sterilisation indicator labels and tape Stericator™ EtO contains no heavy metals.
Application
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels are process indicators to differentiate between processed and non-processed products.
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels are sensitive to the ethylene oxide analogue and should not be used as dosimeters.
Format
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels are self-adhesive label 12mm diameter, 5000 per reel, also available in other formats or as a tape.
Order Size
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels are available in flexible order quantities in multiples of 5000 sterilisation indicator labels.
Lead Time
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels are despatched in less than 4 weeks from receipt of order.
Technical Specification
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels and tape are for use as a process indicator (Class 1) for the sterilisation of goods by ethylene oxide. In the presence of ethylene oxide at a concentration of 600 +/- 30mg/l and 60+/- 10%RH at 30° C, the indicator will show a colour change after a time period (>5 minutes as specified by ISO -11140-1:2005)
Shelf Life and Storage
The Stericator™ EtO sterilisation chemical indicator labels have a shelf life of 12 months from the date of manufacture prior to sterilisation, provided they are stored in ambient conditions below 20°C and 50% R.H. and in the dark. Unprocessed indicators may experience colour changes at raised temperatures.
Precautions : The indicators must be protected from exposure to excessive heat, sunlight, chemicals or chemical vapours.
